Join the Circular Cities Revolution
This autumn, CEI were proud to host our annual global Circular Cities Week event to ensure no city is left behind in the circular transformation.
What is Circular Cities Week?
A Global Movement in Action.
Circular Cities Week is an annual, decentralised global event where Circular Economy Clubs worldwide organise local events, workshops and meetups.
Together, we identify opportunities, create strategic roadmaps and encourage the next steps toward circularity in regions across the globe.
Real People. Real Progress.
As part of Cities Week, Club Leads collaborate with members and attendees to run networking events, online webinars, informative seminars or map circular initiatives currently running in their regions. These contributions form the foundation of our Measuring & Mapping the Circular Economy Project—a collaborative visual map showcasing circular economy initiatives and projects worldwide.
NEW for 2025!
To build on the movement of Circular Cities Week, CEI were thrilled to co-run this year’s week alongside ReLondon’s CE Week!
Having run for the past 7 years, ReLondon’s CE Week encompasses a week of events that explore the role of business, government and communities in accelerating the shift to a circular economy. Hosting a range of in-person practical sessions and streamed content, the week brings together professionals and advocates to connect and share insights, innovations and success stories to help build more resilient, circular cities.
Together, both weeks focus on showcasing, learning from and collaborating to enable the circular economy at localised, regional and country wide levels.

Circular Cities Week 2025 Objectives
- Demonstrate how circular place-based action supports economic growth, delivers green jobs, promotes efficient and productive use of resources, minimises negative environmental impacts and accelerates progress towards net-zero.
- Showcase progress being made in cities around the world; building circular economies, embedding circular principles into communities and providing a resilient and sustainable way of life for city residents.
- Provide opportunities and space to explore and facilitate conversation on the role of local, regional and national government in the shift to a circular economy.
- Share practical examples, toolkits and case studies of circular place-based action to grow momentum and inspire further action in a time of increasing resistance to environmental progress globally.
- An invitation to contribute to the mapping of circular economy initiatives, projects and legislation as a central hub of information to propel growth, collaboration and funding opportunities.

Measuring & Mapping the Circular Economy Initiative
The goal of the mapping initiative, including a city maturity index is to highlight past, current and proposed initiatives across all stages of development for an accurate understanding of on-the-ground circular economy initiatives and activities. It’s a tool to learn from successful projects, identify innovation opportunities, and discover cross-sector collaborations that drive wider circular economy growth.
Connected Communities, Circular Solutions
By mapping initiatives globally, we are building a comprehensive resource that connects circular thinkers, showcases proven solutions, and accelerates the transition to circular economies in cities worldwide. Enabling this level of knowledge sharing will allow for communities from across the globe to have pioneering discussion, to help fast track circularity across geographies.
